GCC will continue to devote all of its resources to fulfill God’s vision on earth as we endeavor to reach out to as many people as we can with the gospel until Christ comes back for his own. (2Pet 3:9)
Our hopes for missions are greatly influenced by the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20. It is in this mandate that we establish the roots of all our mission work, which we believe must begin inward and expand outward, as explained below.
As fully devoted disciples of Christ, we realize that our mission doesn’t start with just “doing something” but it is more about who we are, our lifestyle! Therefore, mission activities at GCC begin primarily with discipleship and reaching out to people “one soul at a time,” keeping everyone accountable to follow Christ diligently.
Furthermore, we prolong this accountability through our cell groups’ activity, stretching our worship to continue throughout the week. We also strive unceasingly to keep this fire going at our Sunday worship services, prayerfully making them passionate and relevant.
Finally, with all of these investments and outpourings we hope to accomplish two things: first, to fulfill the mandate of vertical missions, which is to cultivate leaders to evangelize to and impact the next generation. As is stated in Acts 1:9, our mission here and now is first to our immediate surroundings, and then to the rest of the world. “…you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” So with this in mind, secondly, we put great emphasis on community outreach, praying to be a blessing unto our neighbors so that we can be a blessing unto all nations.
In summary, I would like to call our aforementioned fivefold efforts “restoring biblical community.” At Grace Community Chapel, our leadership firmly believes these efforts to be God-honoring and biblical, and we will remain faithful to these pursuits. We will continue to plant churches throughout this country and in third world countries where there is need. Our cultivated leaders and resources will sponsor and devote themselves to the worthy cause of restoring biblical communities throughout the world for His glory, with pleasure.
